With a fleet of over 600 company cars and 200 passenger cars, we as an organisation are doing a lot to use them as efficiently as possible. When it comes to passenger cars, electric or hybrid models are increasingly being chosen. This will also apply to the company cars in the future in order to continue the CO2 reduction.
Last Mile
Many vehicles are used to deliver car parts and tyres to branches and customers. We are monitoring daily whether this is done as efficiently as possible. We have since turned this into a project called Last Mile. With the growth of our organisation, we see routes from branches mixed up. Delivery routes driven from neighbouring branches to the same delivery area. We then transfer customers to the other branches so that there is only one delivery vehicle from a branch driving around an area, thereby reducing a considerable number of kilometres and also CO2 emissions.
Track and Trace
We also use a Track and Trace system with which we monitor our drivers' fuel consumption and driving behaviour. By comparing and analysing this data with the driver, we are able to significantly reduce fuel consumption, but also organise routes more efficiently.
Matching fleet
We also try to use appropriate vehicles for the work they perform. Here, we look at the desired size of the vehicle in combination with engine power and drive technology. These must be well matched to each other, so that maximum use is made of the loading space.
Electrification of vehicles
We also look for new models or techniques and have recently started using fully electric Carvers. In the future, the company car fleet will also move more in the direction of electrification, as we will invest more in this too to further reduce CO2.
